I believe it is an honour to be the custodian of the Taylor Family business and legacy

After completing my schooling and Tertiary Education at St. Saviour's College and the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba (Bachelor of Business - Double Major in Economics and Government), I ventured away to pursue a very successful career in the world of fashion.

Toowoomba is the place I have always called home...this is where my heart is! So the decision to come back was an easy one. In 2004, I joined our family business Taylor's Removals, a 101 year-old family company, established in 1918 by my Great-Grandfather, William George Taylor.

I worked hard and progressed in the company. My efforts were rewarded and in 2010, I proudly became the first female in four generations of the Taylor family to become Managing Director.

This opportunity has allowed me to develop entrepreneurial skills and savvy business knowledge to change the way the business looks in the removal and storage sector – moving beyond just household and office relocations, into record management, hire, and asset management systems.

I am very passionate about striving to create diversity in our local workforce and indeed across the industry as a whole.

As a former Director on the Queensland Trucking Association Board, I have continued to expand the Taylor Family legacy in the Toowoomba Region, through volunteering on a number of arts and community boards, including The Empire Theatre and Toowoomba Clubhouse Boards.

I have also served as an industry representative on the Department of Transport and Main Roads’ Transport and Logistics Workforce Advisory Committee, Nexus Business Advisory Group, and the National Australian Furniture Removers Association.

In October 2015, Taylor's Removals was inducted into the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. An honour our company and my family hold in the highest of esteem.

In the same month, I was named Queensland Trucking Association's Trucking Woman of the Year.

Then in 2016 I was named ATA (Australian Trucking Association) National Trucking Industry Woman of the Year.

In the same year, I was then named 2016 – National Winner Women in Industry Awards - Excellence in Commercial Road Transport.

And also 2016 Downs Business Woman of the Year.

And 2016 Queensland Trucking Association People Leadership Excellence Award

And 2016 Queensland Supply Chain and Logistics Industry Excellence Award – High Commendation

My previous awards have been:
2006 – Australian Institute of Management’s Young Manager of the Year Inaugural Medal for Business Innovation.

1993 – Retail Association of Queensland (RAQ)
Queensland Young Retailer of the Year

I firmly believe it is an honour to be the custodian of the Taylor family business and legacy.
